Waste paper with personal data was revealed by Bryansk customs officers

Bryansk customs officers have detained a truck carrying 20 tons of waste paper with personal data.

Customs mobile group in Surazhsky district of Bryansk region stopped a truck traveling from Kursk. The driver explained that he was taking waste paper to Belarus to one of the paper mills.

A customs inspection of the vehicle revealed photocopies and originals of documents containing personal data of individuals among the papers prepared for recycling.

“Among the papers prepared for recycling, there were found photocopies and originals of documents containing personal data of individuals

“Among the papers were found undamaged and clearly legible documents containing the surnames, first names and patronymics of Russian citizens, their passport and address data,” said Viktor Tolochko, head of the department of control over importation and turnover of goods of Bryansk customs.

Materials checked for transfer were found in the vehicle

The materials of the inspection have been transferred to Roskomnadzor to make a decision to initiate proceedings on an administrative offense for violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of personal data
