Customs officers at the port of Rostov-on-Don uncovered undeclared goods

A motor ship from neutral waters arrived at the checkpoint of the River Port of Rostov-on-Don to perform customs operations.
In the course of joint control officials of the customs post of the River Port of Rostov-on-Don and the Frontier Department of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Rostov region found about 50 undeclared spare parts intended for the motor ship.
Cases on administrative offenses were initiated against the carrier and the captain of the ship under Article 16.2 part 1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation  (non-declaration of goods subject to customs declaration in the prescribed form)».
Oleg Bessarab, head of the customs post of the River Port of Rostov-on-Don, explained: «In 2023, employees of the customs post initiated 69 cases of administrative offenses, 40 of them – on the facts of non-declaration of spare parts for motor ships. The total value of undeclared goods detected since the beginning of the year amounted to more than 16 million rubles. The customs post also revealed facts of non-declaration of fuel, currency and tobacco products;
