Baltic customs detained 188 thousand packs of Belarusian cigarettes hidden inside the doors
Another attempt of illegal export of Belarusian cigarettes prevented employees of the Baltic customs. Two cases of smuggling identified by results of work of the risk management system.
As a result of the analytical work, the application of the relevant risk profiles, on the Baltic customs prevented two facts of concealment of tobacco products in commercial quantities.
30 June 2020 at the customs post Harbour Baltic customs in respect of consignments “door panel (door leaf)… painted…” load risk profile in fact the high probability statements of false information about goods. In this regard, a decision was taken about their examination with the use of inspection complexes (IDC). The scanning of the container showed uncharacteristic dimmable pointing to foreign investment.
Inside the container was a 6 pallet with door panels is no trademark on the 25 doors on each pallet, – says acting first Deputy chief of the Baltic customs Yevgeny Gusarov. – A decision was made about the hacking of the door panels to investigate the causes of the blackout. At autopsy discovered inside packets of cigarettes and Rothmans Minsk with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus, at the 560 packs in each door.
The sender of the consignment is a St. Petersburg firm, the container was sent to Germany, the port of discharge Rotterdam.
A similar incident occurred yesterday, July 2, at Turukhtanny customs post of the Baltic customs. On the basis of the triggered risk profile was carried out customs examination with the use of IIR container with leaf pine with MDF veneer panels. The object was given the status of “under suspicion”. The sender was a company registered in St. Petersburg. The goods are sent to the Netherlands. At the opening of the container inside was a box, in which were laid the wooden door. Inside door panels were also hidden packs of cigarettes and menthol Minsk Queen with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus, although some doors were empty inside, especially those that were closer to the doors of the container.
According to the facts the question on excitation of criminal cases under article 200.2 of the criminal code of Russian Federation “Contraband of alcoholic production and (or) tobacco products”.
This is the seventh case of cigarettes manufactured in Belarus for the last three months, which with concealment from customs control (hidden in the timber, in steel sound insulation panels, insulation fiber, in furniture and in wooden doors) tried to illegally export by sea from Russia to Europe (Netherlands, UK, Czech Republic, Belgium and Germany) through the Baltic customs.
