Chelyabinsk customs officers prevented smuggling of forest in Kazakhstan and detained the briber, who was trying to return the product

Trafficking in Kazakhstan 34 cubic meters of coniferous timber stopped Chelyabinsk customs officers together with the Border Department of the FSB of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region and the FSB of Russia in the Chelyabinsk region.

Vehicle KAMAZ with a timber field investigators have detained in a check point “Hilly” (Chelyabinsk region). A strategically important resource has moved to Kazakhstan on forged documents. According to experts, the cost of the party is more than 100 thousand rubles.

A citizen of Kazakhstan – the owner of the contraband forest for the cessation of investigative activities and the return of the vehicle with the goods offered the customs officer a bribe of 50 thousand rubles. Of the crime the officer reported to the Department on counteraction of corruption of the Chelyabinsk customs. The fact of the transfer of funds was recorded, the attacker caught red-handed.

For smuggling of strategically important resources initiated a criminal case under part 1 of article 226.1 of the criminal code. Article provides imprisonment for the term from three till seven years with a fine.

Against the briber investigative authorities of the Ural investigatory management on transport of Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case under part 3 of article 291 of the criminal code with punishment of up to eight years of imprisonment. The suspect was taken into custody.
