9 tons of fruits and vegetables without labeling revealed the Rostov customs officers
Officials of the Department of customs control after release of goods of the Rostov customs together with representatives of the office of Rosselkhoznadzor for the Rostov, Volgograd and Astrakhan regions and the Republic of Kalmykia and the Rostov transport Prosecutor’s office, in cooperation with the police internal Affairs across the Rostov region, established the fact of moving a large batch of fruit and vegetables, banned for import and circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation.
During a joint verification activities, it was found that in a vehicle near one of the stationary posts of traffic police in the Rostov region moved fresh kiwi in the amount of 7.5 tons and fresh red bell pepper weighing 1.5 tons. The markings on the boxes with the goods was absent or had traces of plywood, therefore to reliably determine the country of origin and the legality of import of goods into the territory of the Russian Federation was not possible. Documents for the acquisition and certification of identified products was not available.
These goods total weight of 9 tons were seized and destroyed.
