8% increase in the turnover of goods in the region activities of the Vladivostok customs in the 1st quarter of 2020

2.4 million tons of cargo issued by the customs stations of the Vladivostok customs in the first quarter of 2020. This is 8.1 % more than in the same period last year. The total value of shipments amounted to 4.7 billion US dollars.

According to the chief of the Vladivostok customs Oleg Anufrieva, from mid-February 2020 for about a month the turnover decreased every week by 7-10%. This is due to the global spread of a new coronavirus infection. Now, the trade turnover remains stable and tends to increase. In the first quarter of 2020, the trade turnover reached 4.7 billion US dollars, which is 5.7% more compared to the same period last year. In terms of growth of foreign trade turnover increased significantly and the Declaration of the array is 13%. In the first quarter of 2020 Vladivostok customs has issued for the export of nearly 7 thousand customs declarations and more than 54 thousand on imports.

In 2020, foreign trade operations in the region of the Vladivostok customs were implemented with partners from 108 countries. Basically it’s trading partners in the Asia-Pacific economic cooperation. They account for about 91% of the total turnover.

Major trading partners for imports in the region of the Vladivostok customs – China (56,2% value of imports), Japan (15.7 per cent), the Republic of Korea (11.4 percent).

The main imported goods were machinery and equipment, land vehicles (other than railway and tramway) plastics and articles thereof, articles made of ferrous metals, footwear and parts thereof, rubber and rubber products.

Export in the first quarter of 2020 the major share is made up fish, crustaceans and molluscs, wood and articles thereof, rubber and rubber products, ferrous metals and their scrap, ships, boats, yachts and parts. The main partners for exports are in the region of the Vladivostok customs – China (49.8% of value of exports), the Republic of Korea (30.8 per cent), Japan (8.1 per cent) and the USA (1.4 per cent)
